Indian nationals in Turkey include a growing community of students, technology professionals, and business travellers, concentrated in Istanbul and Ankara. India and Turkey have bilateral diplomatic ties within the G20 framework, and the two countries have strengthened trade and economic ties in recent years. Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and other Indian language documentation requires certified Turkish translation for nufus mudurlugu (civil registry) purposes. Post-mortem examinations are routine in India for unexpected deaths, which significantly extends the timeline. The Turkish Embassy in New Delhi handles consular matters.
