Death registration is handled by RITA (Registration, Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency), Tanzania's civil registration authority. Death certificates are issued in English and Swahili, both official languages of Tanzania. Tanzania is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention; full consular authentication through the Tanzanian High Commission or Embassy in the country of origin is required.
