What happens after a death in South Korea

Call 112 for police or 119 for ambulance. Death is certified by a physician. The death is registered with the local gu office (ward office), which issues the Korean death certificate. A jang-ui-hwakinjung (burial or cremation certificate) is required before final disposition. Police take jurisdiction for violent or unexplained deaths. When the body arrives in Oman

The Omani funeral director takes custody at Muscat International Airport (MCT) cargo terminal. The Royal Oman Police registers the death and a burial permit from the Ministry of Health is required before any final disposition. Muslim remains are handled in accordance with Islamic law.
