Death must be reported to the local civil registration office within 28 days; the Civil Registration Department of the General Authority for Intellectual Property and State Registration, under the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, issues the certificate. Apostille certification is handled separately by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Mongolia is a Hague Apostille Convention member since 31 December 2009. Death certificates are issued in Mongolian.
