When the body arrives in Uganda
The Ugandan funeral director takes custody at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) cargo terminal. Death registration is handled by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB). Death certificates are issued in English, the official language of Uganda. Uganda is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention; full consular authentication through the Ugandan High Commission or Embassy in the country of origin is required. For Muslim remains, which account for approximately one third of Uganda's population, Islamic law procedures apply and prompt burial is expected.
