The Tanzanian funeral director takes custody at Julius Nyerere International Airport Dar es Salaam (DAR) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) cargo terminal, depending on the destination region. Death registration is handled by RITA (Registration, Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency), Tanzania's civil registration authority. Death certificates are issued in English and Swahili, both official languages of Tanzania. Tanzania is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention; full consular authentication through the Tanzanian High Commission or Embassy in the country of origin is required.
