Repatriation from Eritrea to Netherlands: what to expect

Eritrean nationals form part of the Netherlands' African diaspora, with a growing community in Amsterdam and other Dutch cities. The Netherlands received significant numbers of Eritrean asylum seekers from 2010 onward. This corridor requires specialist coordination given Eritrea's limited civil registration capacity. Dutch consular services for Eritrea are provided from the Dutch Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. (Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2025.)
