Bosnia and Herzegovina has a resident British Embassy in Sarajevo and established civil registration procedures. The country is divided into two entities (the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska) with separate administrative systems. Deaths in the Federation are handled by the Federal Institute of Forensic Medicine in Sarajevo; deaths in Republika Srpska by the Institute in Banja Luka. Cross-entity cases can add time. Documents are in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian using Latin script (Republika Srpska may also use Cyrillic). Mostar and the Neretva valley are popular UK tourist destinations.
